The one lesson I didn’t say out loud (but you need to hear)

If you’ve been waiting for permission to trust yourself—this is it.

Hey,

In this week’s episode of Block Out the Noise, I shared lessons 7–14 of 21 Things I Wish I Could Tell Every Teen With Anxiety.

But there’s something I didn’t say in the episode—something I wish I had.

When I talked about Lesson 9:
“Stop Outsourcing Your Power,”
I focused on trusting yourself and not waiting for permission to make your own choices.

But what I didn’t say is this:

👉 You already know what you want.
It’s just hard to hear yourself when you’ve spent so long trying to be what everyone else expects.

Anxiety makes us think we need someone else’s approval to feel safe or to be “right.”
So you look around—asking friends, parents, or even strangers on the internet—for their input, hoping it will calm the noise in your mind.

But here’s the truth:
That noise won’t go away until you start choosing you.

And I know that’s hard.
Because when you’ve made a habit of second-guessing yourself, the idea of making decisions on your own feels terrifying.

But what if it didn’t have to be perfect?
What if the win wasn’t in being right—but in being brave enough to decide?

That’s what I wish I had said more clearly in the episode.
So I’m saying it now.

💬 You do not need to earn permission to trust yourself.

🎧 If you haven’t listened yet, Episode 21 is packed with powerful truths like this.
They’re not meant to overwhelm you—but to guide you back to yourself.

Now here’s your challenge:

Make one decision this week without asking for permission.
No second-guessing. No checking in. Just one choice—yours alone.

It could be something small like what you wear, who you hang out with, or how you spend your time.
Or something bigger, like finally saying “no” to something you don’t want to do.

The point isn’t the size of the decision.
The point is that you made it.
And that’s how you start building trust in yourself.

You already have what it takes—this is just the moment you prove it to yourself.

With you,
