The Lie Your Brain Tells You at Night

You’re not behind. You’re not failing. You’re just overwhelmed, and here’s what to do about it.

Have you ever been lying in bed, exhausted, but your brain decides now is the perfect time to ask 500 questions?

  • What if I messed up earlier?

  • What if I can’t fix it?

  • What if I fail?

You’re not imagining it.
Anxiety has a way of showing up when everything else gets quiet.

Your brain thinks it’s protecting you, running through every scenario so you’ll be prepared. But instead of helping, it usually leaves you stuck, drained, and overwhelmed.

Here’s something I want you to try this week:

Try the Flip the Script Tool

When you catch yourself spiraling, pause and ask:
Is this thought helping me move forward, or is it keeping me stuck?

Then take three simple steps:

  1. Write down the anxious thought.

  2. Ask yourself: “Is there another way to look at this?”

  3. Rewrite it with more balance; not fake positivity, just a grounded truth.

Example:
“I’m going to fail this test” → “I studied. And even if it doesn’t go the way I want, I can figure out what to do next.”

I’ll be honest with you—I've been working on something behind the scenes that has had me second-guessing myself more than I expected: recording videos for YouTube.

It’s not easy for me to show up on camera. I have all the same fears I talk about here. But I know that the message I’m trying to share is bigger than my fear of what someone might think.

So just like you, I’m practicing this tool too.

Quick favor: Can you answer a simple poll question?

You’re not alone in this.
You’re not behind.
And even when your brain is spiraling, you still have more power than you realize.

Keep blocking out that noise,
